World's Fair is a 1985 novel by American author E.L. Doctorow. It is a semi-autobiographical story of a boy named Edgar who lives in the Bronx during the late 1930s, and culminates with the 1939 World's Fair. It won the National Book Award in 1986.

A young boy's life in the New York City of the 1930s, a stunning recreation of the sights, sounds, aromas and emotions of a time when the streets were safe, families stuck together through thick and thin, and all the promises of a generation culminate in a single great World's Fair.

About the author: Edgar Lawrence Doctorow was an American novelist, editor, and professor, best known for his works of historical fiction. He wrote twelve novels, three volumes of short fiction and a stage drama. They included the award-winning novels Ragtime, Billy Bathgate, and The March.

Condition: This book is in beautiful vintage condition! The leather is smooth and appears brand new - no cracking. The pages are still very much held together nicely. There outside of the pages are lightly dusted with gold paint! See photos for reference.
