John Bryson traveled to Russia frequently on Armond Hammer's private jet during multiple photographic assignments in the 50s and 60s.
The three are priced for what you would see one selling for on many
different auction sites. Many of these 17th century icons are copied using old materials,techniques, pigments and such. On very close inspection, aside from a few newer nails added on one piece that was necessary to keep it together, many seem to be original handmade nails of the period.
