This is a lovely ceramic pot that was meant for pickling or preserving things like sauerkraut. The way that it works is, you put water in the edge so the oxygen can't go in Ideally you would also put a fermenting weight on the food (this pot doesn't include one). Of course, this pot/jar would also be great for storing food or other things in your kitchen. Or you could use it just as a decorative piece. This item is in perfect vintage condition.
