Absolutely gorgeous unique Asian hand painted, hand made puppet. Very colourful and would make a fabulous decoration. The eyes move when the wood inside the head is shifted.
The item is in used condition with paint peeling and cracking due to its vintage age. The stick on which the puppet is stuck is also cracking.
This intricately hand carved wooden head would have been part of a puppet figure used during puppet shows possibly on the island of Java in Indonesia, or perhaps on other islands of the Island nation.
