The Orvin Watch company was founded in the Canton of Bern in Switzerland, where the French-speaking municipality of Bernese Jura is located.
Originated in the 1940s, The Swiss Orvin watches were luxury watches sold exclusively in the United States by Sears and Roebuck, holding the exclusive trademark for the American arm of the brand from December 1951 through the late 1970s.
