Amazon Head-Hunters by Lewis Cotlow | Literature
Lewis Cotlow, a New York insurance broker, has travelled all over the world, bringing to his experiences the curiosity of an intelligent layman rather than an anthropologist or naturalist.
During three expeditions to the headwaters of the Amazon, Lewis Cotlow lived and made friends with the primitive tribes of Ecuador and Peru. But his main goal was the Jivaro head-hunters, and in this thrilling account of his journeys and adventures, he describes their costumes, their homes, their food, jokes, dances, ceremonials and their history.
He treated these primitive people as fellow human beings, won their respect, and as a result was able to see and photograph rituals probably never recorded before.
This book appears to be in beautiful vintage condition, with very minor damages. The words appear to be crisp and very clear to read!
A perfect gift for that special someone!
Vintage/Antique Items:
Please note that most vintage/antique items may have minor wear due to their age and being loved, which we believe only adds to the charm and patina of these pieces. Because the items sold in our shop are vintage or antique, there are often small condition issues, which we do our best to accurately disclose and photograph in the listings.
While we try very hard to describe our items accurately, it is possible that the eye of a true collector might see something that we do not. If you are particular about your vintage items, please ask questions before you buy. We really want you to be happy with your item and have confidence in your purchase.
